Games for Change (BAU BUG)
This year, we are pressing start on the official opening of the Games for Change Türkiye Festival. Positioned at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, Türkiye connects diverse voices and perspectives, making it an ideal location for fostering collaboration.
Before becoming the Türkiye chapter of Games for Change, BUG Lab had already been deeply involved in impactful projects like TechCamp İstanbul, a bootcamp where game designers, NGOs, and educators collaborated to create game prototypes addressing critical issues such as media literacy, women’s empowerment, and climate change. This foundation of using games for social good continues to drive our mission forward.
In May 2024, we hosted the Games for Change and XR Technologies Workshop at Akbank Sanat, our first official event. The workshop explored the use of XR and gaming technologies for social impact and innovation, marking the beginning of our journey as the Türkiye chapter.
We believe games can go beyond entertainment—they can drive education, promote sustainability, foster well-being, and engage communities in civic action. Through our initiatives, collaborations, and events, we bring together game creators, organizations, and changemakers to build a community focused on creating innovative solutions for a better future.
